The movie is about an asylum. Because it's a movie, it doesn't have the same budget and uses it sparingly. It only features a handful of human characters. The big stars are kept on one set (Monster Island from Decker Shado) so they can all film their scenes during lunch. Let's not forget, this is a movie about kaiju, and that's how they work, so maybe The Asylum will do a better job.
